The Vision

We have had a little lack of communication over the past two months…

As it has been extremely busy over here … and as is the  way with large families/small farms … we have been over our eyeballs with projects.

Currently we are in the very beginning stages.

We have had a lot of help with the start of this farm in the way of equipment gifts and loans from our families, and generous support from family and friends, and Frances’ veterinary knowledge and Bart’s mechanical knowledge…

Without these things (and God’s faithfulness) this venture would not be possible.

But still, we are struggling mightily, as the labor required to do all these things from scratch is astounding, and we are only a few people.

Hand weeding one of our front fields …

Triumphant husband and sons after they completed the very difficult move of our main drain in the dairy barn section of the new shop construction.

In addition to our family and friends, we appreciate all our customers DEARLY, and can’t wait to find more and meet all of you in person!

Our farm store is now fully operational and has received the USDA “stamp” of approval to start going to farmers’ markets!

You will see us at the Jackson Farmers’ Market very soon!

(Come visit us here also!)

So, about the vision…

Our vision for Glory 7 Farm & Ranch is to be a place of refuge and a place for wholesome food to be produced and distributed.

We want to be a place where one can find nourishment for their body and soul.

We started with beef cattle, but then found a love for dairy we didn’t know we had.

Each is evolving in its own right, but also together.

We live in a (TINY!) home we didn’t plan on, as building our home has taken a back seat to building things for the animals (fences, barn, store, etc).

Living in 300sq ft with 7 people definitely comes with challenges that most would not like to endure, including us … Hahahahahahaha.

But we are grateful to God for His Providence in providing a home for our family.

However, we do have plans and hope that we will be in a normal house one day, and be able to bless others ..

Once we are able to move into our home, this cabin will become a guest house and a place for some of you to come “get away” from the city for awhile and breathe in the sweet scent of the fields and woods.

We also have made some trails through our extensive woods (about 80 acres), and there are more to be made.

Just walking on wooded trails can bring so much peace.

Along the trails we envision places to sit and think, meditate, and pray.

We hope to be a leader in the area of intensive rotational grazing, because even in the short time we have operated we have seen its help in our previously neglected fields.

There has also been quite a bit of interest expressed to me regarding other educational classes: plants in the pastures & woods, animals, gardening, cheese classes … the list goes on.

We even envision our horses providing therapy for some - in an area to meet them and maybe even ride.

Thanks for your patience watching us grow, and we appreciate absolutely all of you who have offered and given support.

Come by soon!
